The only museum in Greece
dedicated to the art of
typography. Tools, machinery,
printing presses and many other
items relevant to what is perhaps
the greatest human invention
are on display at the museum,
providing an opportunity for
guests not only to view these
artifacts but also to use them.

Ελλάδα αφιερωµένο στην τέχνη
της τυπογραφίας. Εργαλεία,
µηχανήµατα, τυπογραφικά και
πιεστήρια που αφορούν τη
µεγαλύτερη ανθρώπινη εφεύρεση
εκτίθενται στους χώρους του
µουσείου, το οποίο προσφέρει την
ευκαιρία όχι µόνο να τα δείτε αλλά
και να τα χρησιµοποιήσετε.

FOLKLORE MUSEUM
OF CHANIA
A traditional “Cretan Home” with
representations of the habits and daily
routines of people living in the countryside
during the 18th and 19th centuries. In
addition to the collection of tools, raw
materials and products relevant to traditional
households, industry and agricultural life, the
on-site workshop revives the art of Cretan
embroidery and allows for the creation of
embroidered artworks. Ένα παραδοσιακό
«Κρητικό Σπίτι» µε αναπαραστάσεις συνηθειών
και καθηµερινών ασχολιών των κατοίκων
της υπαίθρου του 18ου και του 19ου αιώνα.
Εκτός από τη συλλογή εργαλείων, πρώτων
υλών και προϊόντων οικοτεχνίας, βιοτεχνίας
και αγροτικής ζωής, ενδιαφέρον
παρουσιάζει το εργαστήριο, όπου
αναβιώνει η κρητική κεντητική
τέχνη και δηµιουργούνται κεντητοί
