As every little child has the curiosity to discover the world
around it, Apostolis had the same tendency, but his curiosity
was focused on several materials, which he firstly composed
into constructions and then he destroyed them. This was the
threshold for his occupation with visual arts. He loves Chania
very much, he is enchanted by the palimpsest of civilizations
that comprise the town since the antiquity, depicted on the
buildings of the Old Harbour, whereas his favourite spot is the
garden of the Art Gallery, a little oasis in the town’s turbulence.
Όπως κάθε μικρό παιδί έχει την περιέργεια να ανακαλύψει
τον κόσμο γύρω του, έτσι και ο Αποστόλης, μόνο που η δική
του περιέργεια επικεντρωνόταν στα διάφορα υλικά, τα οποία
συνέθετε σε κατασκευές και αργότερα τις κατέστρεφε. Αυτή
ήταν η αρχή για την ενασχόλησή του με τις εικαστικές τέχνες.
Αγαπάει πολύ τα Χανιά, μαγεύεται από το παλίμψηστο
πολιτισμών που συνθέτουν την πόλη από την αρχαιότητα έως
σήμερα, αποτυπωμένο στα κτίσματα του παλαιού λιμανιού,
ενώ αγαπημένο του σημείο είναι ο κήπος της Πινακοθήκης,
μια μικρή όαση στην τύρβη της πόλης. zolotakis.com
